Committees
Committees
Congregation Eitz Chayim has established the following committees:
Budget and Finance Committee
The Budget and Finance Committee has responsibility over the finances of Eitz Chayim. With input from the other committees, the committee prepares and submit the annual budget to the board for approval.
The committee works closely with the synagogue administrator on the daily accounting and treasury functions and oversees the annual appeal.
The committee engages the board in long term financial planning to support Eitz Chayim's needs and continued growth.
Building Committee
The Building Committee is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the property of the Congregation, and proposes guidelines to the Board for the use of the Congregation's physical facilities.
Caring Committee
The Caring Committee assists members with life cycle events, supports them in times of need, and lauds them in times of achievement. The Committee performs acts of caring for EC members, including organizing meal trains for members recovering from health issues, recognizing and celebrating mitzvahs, providing help in times of loss or healing, and reaching out to members who are looking for connection and support.
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee is responsible for reaching out to and welcoming potential members and new members to the congregation through a variety of events, as well as developing programs to help integrate and retain all members. The committee hosts such events as Open Houses, Sukkot festivities, Hanukkah latke tasting, small discussion groups and Tu B'Shevat New Member Welcome Shabbat.
Ritual Committee
The Ritual Committee makes sure the temple observes the holidays through the course of the Jewish year, addressing the nuts and bolts that allow for our observance as well as congregation awareness and participation. We also address weekly Friday night services and periodic Saturday morning (learner) services.
School Committee
The School Committee has the following responsibilities:
- Develop the education program for children enrolled in the Religious School, along with the Education Director, education staff, and Rabbi.
- Supervise the operation of the School.
- Establish programs for youth.
In addition to the above committees, Eitz Chayim also established an important committee called Eitz Action.
