Book Discussion with Judy Rakowsky, sponsored by the Lifelong Learning Team
Sunday, December 15, 2024 • 14 Kislev 5785
11:00 AM - 1:00 PMJews in the Garden is a detective story and family Holocaust memoir that “reads like a thriller” per the New York Times and follows EC’s own Judy Rakowsky, a career crime reporter, and her cousin Sam, a survivor of Nazi camps, on a quest of many trips to his native Poland. It’s a nonfiction whodunit about the wartime massacre of Jews in hiding and an inconvenient history this duo happened upon, one that was outlawed in 2018 by a Polish government insisting on patriotic history. It’s a layered tale about the obsessive pursuit of a surviving cousin who had to lose her Jewish identity to live.
Jews in the Garden is available to order from Bookshop.org, Barnes&Noble, and Amazon.
